Beverlee Wenzel is Executive Director of The ROCK Center for Youth Development and Discover You™. She brings 35 years of successful and intentional business leadership with 15 years of that in non-profit youth development programs that promote resilience. Her qualifications include being a Certified Public Manager through Saginaw Valley State University and Certified Fundraising Manager through the Fund-Raising School of Indiana/Purdue University Certified (now Lily Fundraising School) and a Positive Psychology Practitioner.
Her passion has led her to pioneer the creation, training, and implementation of the Discover You life-skills and character development program, in addition to The ROCK Grounded out-of-school time and other programs.
Bev is an active speaker and presenter; engaging individuals and communities on key elements that can change the trajectory of our youth and create communities that support their growth. Recent presentations include the NAA Convention, Dallas TX, Growth Mindsets and Character Strengths; Child Abuse & Neglect Governor’s Task Force Annual Summit, Traverse City, MI, Strengths & Grit…Rising out of the Darkness; 5th World Congress on Positive Psychology, Montreal, Canada, Positive Psychology in Out of School Time; and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Great Lakes Bay Region, MI, The Accidental Fundraiser.
Her accomplishments include the Michigan Association of School Administrators Region 4 Champion for Children Award and the Maier & Associates Just for Kids Foundation Making a Difference award.
Bev has the leadership skills, passion, and experience needed to promote not only resiliency in our community but in communities across the nation by positively impacting youth through increased personal skills with an emphasis on resilience and strengths; to create long-term change; to create a culture where restoration and skill-building are prioritized over traditional discipline, and to improve the quality of life for the young and those without a voice.
