Beverlee Wenzel is the author of Discover Youth. A Comprehensive Guide to Equip and Inspire Adults Who Impact Youth. This prescriptive nonfiction guide offers actionable solutions and inspiration for parents, educators, out-of-school-time professionals, and anyone dedicated to making a positive impact on youth.

Wenzel is the former President and CEO of The ROCK Center for Youth Development and founder of Discover You™. Her passion has driven her to pioneer the creation, training, and implementation of the Discover You™ life-skills and character development program, as well as The ROCK out-of-school time program and other programs.

She brings 40 years of successful and intentional business leadership, with 22 years of that in non-profit youth development programs. Her qualifications include being a Certified Public Manager through Saginaw Valley State University, a Certified Fundraising Manager through the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, and a Positive Psychology Practitioner.

Motivating and educating are a priority for Wenzel, who is an active speaker and presenter. She engages individuals and communities on key elements that can change the trajectory of youth and foster communities that support their growth. Having presented at numerous conferences to thousands of participants, her presentations include the NAA Conventions in Las Vegas, NV; Washington, DC; New York, NY; Dallas, TX; and Orlando, FL; the Child Abuse & Neglect Governor’s Task Force Annual Summit in Traverse City, MI; the 5th World Congress on Positive Psychology in Montreal, Canada; and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Great Lakes Bay Region, MI; Beyond School Hours Conference; Southern Region Education Board Making Schools Work Conference. 

The workshop ‘The Art of Developmental Feedback’ earned Wenzel recognition as a top 5 presenter at the National Afterschool Association Convention. Other achievements include the Michigan Afterschool Collaborative Impact Award, the Charles J. Strosacker Improving Communities Award, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Outstanding Fundraising Executive Award, the Michigan Association of School Administrators Region 4 Champion for Children Award, and the Maier & Associates Just for Kids Foundation Making a Difference Award.

Bev has the leadership skills, passion, and experience needed to foster cohesive, strategic communities across the nation by intentionally leading and managing nonprofits and positively impacting youth. Focus areas include developing sustainable change that builds a culture where skill-building is central to youth development, restoration takes priority over traditional discipline, and the quality of life for young people and those without a voice is enhanced.
